The cost comparison of dishwasher liquids is as follows:

Homemade - 3 cents to 7 cents per load, depending on amount used

Store Bought  - 7 cents to 13 cents per load depending on brand, and amount used.

The biggest saving comes from using white vinegar as rinse agent versus purchasing an agent.  This savings can be almost $10 for 70 loads.
