We recommend silicone as a safer material for food contact over traditional petroleum-based plastics. Our products are made from high-quality, platinum-cured, 100% LFGB-certified silicone that does not contain harmful substances such as melamine, BPA, BPS, BPF, BADGE, BFDGE, or NOGE additives that can disrupt hormone production in the body and lead to other health risks.   

Sprout Ware® is our registered name for plant plastic. It is made without harmful additives such as BPA, BPS, BPF, BADGE, BFDGE, or NOGE that can disrupt hormone production in the body, which are more commonly found in traditional petroleum-based plastics. Plant plastic helps prevent these chemicals from leaching into foods and beverages for your little one’s health and safety. 

Our products are tested to meet and exceed the standards set by CPSIA for the United States, as well as Canada and the European Union product safety standards. 

We use food grade, non-toxic dyes or finishes in all our feeding products.  

Babies are unique, and what works for one baby may not work for another. Your baby will tell you when, or if, they are ready to move to the next nipple flow rate by their feeding behaviors.

You may notice that your baby: Starts fussing with the bottle; unlatches and re-latches throughout the feed; collapses the nipple during feeding; bites or tugs on the nipple.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children fully transition to an open cup by 18 months. Once your child feels comfortable holding and drinking from a sippy spout, we recommend introducing straw spouts. Our interchangeable sippy spout and straw spout provide both options to aid in continued development and prolong the life of your cup.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the introduction of solid foods between the ages of four and six months, depending on the individual baby. We recommend using the food spout starting at 6 months for purées, yogurts, and smoothies. 

Our Sprout Ware® plant plastic travel cap locks into the collar to keep the nipple/spout clean and prevent leaks. Our soft silicone sippy spout and straw spout allow liquids to pass through only when pressure is applied for a natural free flow and to prevent messes while your child is learning to hold and drink independently.  

Silicone is made from silica (or sand), a natural resource that won’t break down into microplastic pollution, making it a more sustainable alternative to traditional plastics. Our plant plastic is a plant-based, sustainable material, which, unlike petro-plastics, is a natural, renewable resource. 

By following the care and use instructions, our pockets are durable with a long lifespan to grow with baby throughout developmental stages. Nipples, spouts, straws, caps, and collars are interchangeable to fit with any of our Sprout Ware® pockets, bottles, and cups for a longer lifespan. Our pockets can be used for many years to come but should be thrown away at any sign of damage or weakness.

Our plant-plastic bottles and cups marked with recycling symbol #2 are recyclable in most municipalities. If your plant-plastic is marked with a different recycling number, we recommend contacting your local waste management service for more information on recycling in your area. If the product is still functional, we also recommend donating or passing along to friends or family. 

While our plant-plastic parts are dishwasher-safe (top rack only) at a maximum temperature of 180° F (82° C), hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the product. DO NOT sterilize or microwave plant-plastic parts (including collar, collar adapter, & stopper ring). We do not recommend microwaving or heating, as high heat or extreme cold can weaken the plant-plastic material.

Our silicone pouch is dishwasher-safe (top rack only), can be sterilized in boiling water for up to 5 minutes, and is microwave-safe once ALL plant-plastic parts (including collar, collar adapter, and stopper ring) are removed. DO NOT sterilize or microwave plant plastic parts. We do not recommend microwaving or heating the pouch above 392° F (200° C). Take extra care when microwave heating—localized over-heating can occur. Always remove nipple/spout before heating to avoid pressure buildup. 

Occasionally, some silicone items can obtain an odor during the manufacturing and storage process. While unpleasant, this should not be cause for concern, as our products are third-party tested to meet or exceed the most stringent international safety standards. To eliminate any odor, first remove ALL plant-plastic parts (including collar, collar adapter, and stopper ring). Then, boil the silicone pouch to sterilize it, or soak it in a mixture of one-part white vinegar to two parts hot water and rinse thoroughly. 

1. To assemble the top, grasp nipple/spout and pull through the Sprout Ware® Collar until it snaps into place. Note: Nipple/spout should be centered between the notches on the Collar Adapter.
2. To assemble the base, collapse the neck of the silicone pocket and place Sprout Ware® Collar Adapter around it, while twisting to align the silicone tabs with the notches on the Collar Adapter. Ensure the lip of the silicone pocket extends over the Collar Adapter.
3. Place the Sprout Ware® Stopper Ring inside the Collar Adapter.
4. After filling pocket with desired amount of liquid, tighten collar with assembled nipple/spout firmly.
5. Twist to lock travel cap on collar to help prevent spills when pocket is not in use.
